WORDS OF WISDOM
Illness: Part of a Healthy Lifestyle?

Monday, Jan 5th Beginners Class transcription: A Student has been ill over the winter with a bad attack of flu. She looks transformed now that she has gone through it...

I think your illness did you good. If you work on yourself and develop yourself in the correct way all those things will help you [such as colds and flus]. If you didn't have those kind of symptoms you'd be sicker. They're psychic. Whenever anyone had a release in a group I was leading, they'd get flu or colds soon after!

If you're not living a healthy lifestyle, they're destructive to you. Most colds and flus are beneficial. If you look to nature everthing looks to balance the whole system so that it remains healthy (consider funghi or bacteria). If you live in the type of environment we live in, and you don't get something like a cold, then something is wrong. I can think of many people who never had any sickness in their life and then they got cancer! A lot of the western medicines try to stop the process of the illness, but it's a living process and who's to say that it shouldn't be lived out?

Fortunately, we dont have to make any effort to catch anything! It may be taking toxic things out of your body. I noticed for years, after getting any illness like that, I felt much much better than before I got it. There's an idea that we shouldn't get sick. That comes from the people who sell the medicine. To sell the medicine they have to give you the idea that something is wrong. For decades, I didn't go to the doctor or take any drugs. When I quit taking medicine, colds took a couple of days instead of a few weeks to get over! Try to keep an open mind - don't take my word for it. If you are avoiding illlness, don't! Just cooperate with it.

There are a lot of vitamins and nutrients which are good and others which aren't. The same thing is true with supplements and herbs. Some are being sold from fear. So I wouldn't just go and cram a few pills. Read up and study it and find what works for you. Supplements have definitely helped me.
