Topics: Po Chi exercises; Original Mind; Subtle Energy Perception; Eyesight vs Vision;
Intellectual Mind; Seeing Energy Effects
(The class had started with Po Chi exercises when San Gee noticed one of the students breathing heavily...)
Noisy Breathing is a sign of a disturbed mind. Also, if you quieten your breath it quietens your mind. Po Chi exercise has a lot to do with the effect of tension on chi and the state of your mind.
Your original state of chi is what makes your mind in the first place. If your mind scatters, you really scatter the chi which is sourcing your mind. In the beginning the way to sense chi better is to feel your body. Subtle Energy perception begins with feeling the most obvious thing - which is physical. Later, you realise that you can't feel anything BUT chi! But you probably think you [already] feel your arm! That's a result of conceptualisation. But if you really feel what's there (and drop the whole idea you have of it) then is that a hand? With amputees, the energy form is still there, even when you lose an arm... Air, weather, etc, all have their own chi...
In this [Po Chi] exercise you are feeling the body and you learn to keep your mind open. The mecahnics aren't so important, the main function of the exercise is the ATTENTION.
Your seeing doesn't have to be where your eyes are pointed! How you use your vision is directly connected with how you are using your brain. More intellectual - more narrow mind and sight. The more intuitive function really opens up a different side of the brain. Once you develop your energy you can look around someone's head and pretty much know what they are perceiving and their level of thinking - there's a characteristic pattern. Your chi focusses to stimulate a certain area - the intellectual function will never see that. People that have trouble seeing auras and feeling energy have problems detaching from their intellectual function.
You can't feel 'a hand' you can only conceive 'a hand'. Also, once you see your hands, see everyone else's hands in the circle (the students are standing in a circle). When you put your attention on perceiving energy, you take your mind out of the lower vibration channels: thinking, feeling and listening. So most of the finer perceptions of life occur on that higher frequency channel. Most do not occur on the channel where you are thinking. If you notice the more wondrous experiences in your life are not when you think about things. Of course you need an intellectual mind too, AND you need some of that ability to float free. It should be in your ability to tune in and out as you desire - You shouldn't be trapped in your mind or trapped in bliss. I've seen people almost meditate themselves to death: you can misuse and abuse anything.
For most people, there's nothing that promotes silence. Maybe if you're a gardener, or painter, maybe that will bring you to a mediative state, but most things we have to think about distract or split us up.
(Students are looking around the circle to see what they can see) Do you see outlines of people? It's a lot of things. Like right before you speak, I see something coming from your mouth. It's not like rings of colour. Can you see the light around my body? It's there, everyone can see it, but most people can't CONSCIOUSLY see it. And there are optical illlusions too. But the light and energy forms are consistent and you can distinguish a structure in it if you look closer - its a very subtle thing. When you see it, people can say 'energy doesn't exist', 'chi doesn't exist', we're not going to argue about that: it's like arguing about 'does the sun exist?' - it's constantly observable.
(One student comments that sometimes other people's faces change when he looks deeply at them - they look like monsters.) What's going on when people look lke monsters? People are a living energy field. So if you look at anybody, just look at their face and really look for a while, you'll see "hey I never saw them before!" When you look and say "I know who that is", you are looking at a graphical concept in your mind which you use to identify them...which is useful.
If you just think of different things, your face will (apparently) change. We used to play a game and you could sit and really form an animal and not say anything or change your face and everyone else could guess what it was! These things are not just imagination or intuition. What are imagination and intuition?...
Nothing exists without energy. Still there has to be something touching something - communicating. Without chi there is nothing. Nothing moving, nothing touching. Life is relatively real. If you rob a bank you really will go to jail! And there's a whole world of disconnected thoughts - a FANTASY. You need to be able to distinguish between your fantasies and what's real. Like when I was a teenager and I didnt know 'does this woman want me to kiss her?', etc. Later, you know by the energy whether it's right to hug or kiss or not. Then when everything is that way, you know what's going on. Like when you say "I'm going to learn the piano" and the words are empty. How do they know that it's not going to happen? It's because there's no energy behind it. It's not connected to anything.
After years of working with people in sessions, I told them things and they asked, "How do you know?". I have to say because I see more than they do. Is there energy in this? Anything that exists in this world has to have energy behind it. Spiritual things dont have any manifestation. Physical things, everything real in the world, has to have process, substance, energy to manifest. That's the importance of chi.
